At Huntcliff, we recognise the importance of making a successful transition from year 6 to year 7.
When they start with us in year 7, your son or daughter join a specialist team of form tutors lead by the head of house.
The team is supported by members of the inclusion team, led by the Associate Assistant Head, Mrs Ashwood.
Pupils remain with the same form tutor and Head of House from year 7 until they leave in year 11.
Their form tutor takes an active role in the monitoring of the progress of pupils, encouraging and supporting them as required, and communicating with parents informally or more formally at parent consultation evenings.
We report regularly to parents on their child’s progress on fixed calendar dates. We also encourage informal consultation at any time.
The pastoral work of form tutors is coordinated by the heads of house who give support and advice to form tutors and liaise with external agencies when required. The whole tutorial and support process is under the leadership of Mrs Ashwood.
