The Children's University.
On the 5th November some of our Year 7 and 8 students took part in a visit to The Children's University based at North Lindsey College. Upon our arrival we were taken to Iron Air, the college’s own air mock up aircraft, where we were offered refreshments and had a chance to make announcements on the tannoy system. Although we didn't have the chance to fly, we were treated as valued customers of the airline!
Following this we went to the engineering department where we designed and made bars of soap. The students decided on scent and materials before completing their product with their own design; some of which will be on sale at our Christmas concert. Also in the engineering department, we had the opportunity to design intricate iron models on a specialised computer. We made a dragon and snake which we soon hope to be on display.
We had a fabulous day and learned so many different skills, whilst earning valuable points in our student passports for The Children's University.
Many thanks to all involved in the organisation of our trip.
