4th July 2018: Last week we were visited by representatives from The Grimsby Institute for a competition about Renewable energy. The visit involved 15 Year 8 and 15 Year 9 students.
They watched a video about a day in the life of an offshore wind turbine engineer and were able to talk to and question two trainee wind turbine engineers.
In teams the students had to correctly put on all of the safety equipment used offshore, including breathing apparatus. At the end of the talk there was a quiz to test their knowledge about what they had learnt.
The winning team for knowledge and teamwork go through to the final, to compete against other schools.
Thank you to the pupils who attended, The Grimsby Institute and Mr Lewis for hosting the visit. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
