We are currently arranging our year 9 options ready for our students to select. We are in the process of updating subject information due to recent exam board spec changes for some subjects. Our website will then be updated and then information sent out to parents/carers and students along with a video guide on supporting your child to choose their options.
Year 9’s will also take part in an ‘Option taster day’ so they can experience different subjects at GCSE level. Giving then the opportunity to speak to teachers about the subjects at GCSE level, experience the work to be completed and they will also be able to speak with our careers advisor to seek any advice about their options and how this can impact on post 16 choices. Students will then be provide with a link to an online form for them to select their choices.
This term in Life students are also completing a Careers unit which covers topic such as being future ready, so students have plenty of opportunity to do their own careers research in addition to seeking any advice from teachers about their options too. Next week is National Careers Week with a programme of different activities taking place, there is further opportunity to engage with careers based activities that could further support their choices.
