NCW2023

National Careers Week takes place 6th -10th March 23. There is a full on programme of activities taking place in school; links to live speakers, form activities, CV writing workshops and more! We welcome some Post 16 providers who are looking forward to giving assemblies to our Yr 7-10 students about the provision they offer and life after school! Later on in the Month our Yr 10 & Y11 students are off to Hull University to attend the Skills Humber careers and employer event. Our Yr 7’s are lucky enough to enjoy a Forensic Science workshop on the 6th March Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for updates!

Upcoming events

Skills event – yr 10 and 11 have the opportunity to attend the skills, careers and apprenticeship event at Hull University on 29th March. They will engage with hundreds of employers, colleges and universities. Interested? email egreen@huntcliffschool.co.uk

WiME – Women in manufacturing and Engineering – Students have the opportunity to attend the WiME even at Baths Hall, Scunthorpe on 21st June They will engage with hundreds of employers in this sector and will be surprised at the vast range of jobs in the sector! Find my future week including Y10 Virtual Work Experience week 19th June -23rd June 2023

There is a range of different activities running throughout this week that include the year 10 VWEX We are currently developing a range of exciting activities for year 10’s and for our other year groups such as the NatWest big Career challenge sessions, talks from employers from different sectors, careers fair. the programme will be uploaded once confirmed.

National Careers Week (#NCW 22) runs from the 6th-10th March 2023, we have various activities going on in school along with some of the local colleges and providers visiting during lunch time so students can have informed discussions about their future. We are also celebrating International Women’s Day on the 8th and have linked this in to #NCW looking at equality in the workplace and breaking down gender stereotypes. Here is a plan of the outline of activities that students will be taking part in throughout the week there are numerous activities and competitions for the students to take part in. I will also be sharing some useful links for parents & carers to use at home too.
